Description
ValueRAM's KVR56S46BS8-16 is a 2G x 64-bit (16GB) DDR5-5600 CL46 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM), 1Rx8, memory module, based on eight 2G x 8-bit FBGA components. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency DDR5-5600 timing of 46-45-45 at 1.1V. Each 262-pin SODIMM uses gold contact fingers.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is this module?
Kingston ValueRAM 16GB DDR5 SODIMM, 5600 MT/s (PC5-44800), CL46, 1Rx8, 262-pin, 1.1V, Non-ECC Unbuffered — designed for laptops/SFF PCs that take DDR5 SODIMM.
2) Will it fit my laptop?
It fits systems that use DDR5 262-pin SODIMM. It will not fit DDR4 SODIMM or desktop DDR5 DIMM slots (different keying/pins). Check your laptop manual/specs for “DDR5 SODIMM”.
3) Will I actually get 5600 MT/s?
Speed depends on your CPU/platform. Many 13th-gen Intel® Core™ laptops top out at DDR5-5200; 12th-gen often max at DDR5-4800. The module will automatically run at your system’s supported speed (“downclock” if needed).
4) Is this ECC memory?
No — it’s Non-ECC Unbuffered. Like all DDR5, the chips include on-die ECC for internal error correction, which isn’t the same as system-level ECC.
5) Does it need XMP/EXPO to hit its speed?
No. This ValueRAM module uses JEDEC standard timings (CL46) in SPD. Laptops rarely expose XMP/EXPO anyway; the module will run at the platform’s native supported speed.
6) What are the exact timings and voltage?
JEDEC DDR5-5600 timings of 46-45-45 at 1.1V.
7) Is it single-rank or dual-rank?
Single-rank (1Rx8).
8) Can I mix this with my existing RAM?
Mixing is possible but not recommended. If you mix capacities/speeds/brands, the system will run at the lowest common speed/timings and stability can vary. For best results, use matched SODIMMs.
9) Will two sticks be faster than one?
Installing two identical SODIMMs typically enables dual-channel, increasing memory bandwidth and improving performance in many workloads versus a single stick.
10) Is it compatible with Intel and AMD laptops?
Yes — as long as the laptop supports DDR5 SODIMM. Higher-speed modules automatically run at the speed your CPU/chipset supports (e.g., 5200/4800 MT/s on many systems).
11) What’s the warranty?
Kingston memory modules (including ValueRAM) carry a limited lifetime warranty.
12) Any quick install tips?
Power off and unplug, discharge static, insert the module at the slot angle until fully seated, then click down the spring clips. Boot and verify speed/capacity in BIOS/OS.
