Does it work with both USB-A and USB-C?
Yes. ZenDrive U9M includes two cables for USB-A and USB-C, so you can plug into newer or older laptops without an adapter.
Which operating systems are supported?
Officially supports Windows and macOS. It also works on many Linux distros (driverless, class-compliant), though bundled software is for Windows.
Is any burning/playback software included?
Yes, for Windows: CyberLink Power2Go (and PowerBackup on some bundles). On macOS you can use third-party apps for DVD playback/burning.
What are the read/write speeds?
DVD up to 8× (read/write); CD up to 24× (read/write).
Does it support M-DISC for long-term archiving?
Yes—M-DISC (DVD) compatible for archival-grade burns. Use M-DISC DVD media for longevity; Blu-ray M-DISC requires a Blu-ray writer (not this model).
Can it read or write Blu-ray discs?
No. U9M is a DVD±RW drive. For Blu-ray (BD/BDXL) you’ll need a Blu-ray drive.
