FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is this kit compatible with my PC?
It’s standard DDR4 (288-pin UDIMM) and is compatibility-tested across popular Intel chipsets (200/300/400/500/600, X299) and AMD 300/400/500-series platforms (incl. X570). Always check your motherboard’s memory QVL for best results.
2) What are the exact specs (speed, timings, voltage)?
Rated profile: 3200 MT/s (PC4-25600), CL16-20-20-38 at 1.35 V. SPD defaults: 2133 MHz at 1.20 V (loads when XMP is not enabled).
3) Do I need to enable anything to run at 3200 MT/s?
Yes—enable XMP 2.0 in BIOS (or DOCP/A-XMP on some AMD boards). Otherwise it will run at the lower JEDEC SPD speed by default.
4) Is it good for Intel 12th/13th/14th Gen or AMD Ryzen 3000/5000?
Yes—LPX is validated across Intel 200→600 chipsets and AMD 300→500 series. As always, memory support also depends on your CPU’s memory controller and motherboard BIOS.
5) What’s the heatspreader height—will it clear big air coolers?
VENGEANCE LPX uses a low-profile aluminum heatspreader designed for tight spaces and large tower coolers. Check your cooler’s RAM-clearance spec, but LPX is widely chosen for clearance-sensitive builds.
6) Is this RGB or does it need any software?
No RGB and no software required. Just enable XMP in BIOS for rated speed.
7) Can I mix this kit with other RAM?
Not recommended. Mixing different kits (even with the same part number) can reduce stability or force lower speeds/timings. If you need 32 GB, buy a matched 2×16 GB kit.
8) Will it work if I only install one DIMM?
It will work, but you’ll lose dual-channel bandwidth. For best performance, install both 8 GB DIMMs in the slots your motherboard manual recommends (often A2/B2).
9) Is it single-rank or dual-rank?
8 GB DDR4 DIMMs are commonly single-rank, but rank can vary by revision/IC sourcing. Rank doesn’t change capacity; it can influence memory-controller behavior. Check your board manual if rank matters for your use case.
10) Any tips to improve stability at 3200 MT/s?
Update to the latest motherboard BIOS, enable XMP, populate the recommended slots, and avoid mixing kits. On some systems, slightly relaxing gear mode/command rate may help.
11) What’s the warranty?
CORSAIR memory carries a limited lifetime warranty (region policies apply). Keep your proof of purchase.
12) What’s in the box?
Two 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs (total 16 GB) with aluminum low-profile heatspreaders, retail packaging, and documentation.
